Intermission

As a follow up to our workshops, John and Jenn are hosting Intermission, intergenerational mission mentoring groups consisting of four conversations. Each conversation features stories, guests, Q&A, and informal connection designed to introduce key discipleship topics as you explore the world of global missions.

We captured the following clips on our road trip through the high deserts of Utah and Arizona to frame each conversation:

Week 1: Identity

Who am I?

It can be a confusing question. We are constantly bombarded with different messages about our identity from society and culture. Our worth is judged by our accomplishments, possessions, or reputations. Much of life’s pursuits and pain can depend on the answers we find to this all-important question.

Week 2: Loss

What do I do with my pain?

Pain and loss is universal to humankind. We all experience it, knowingly and unknowingly. So much of what holds us back, shapes our thoughts and drives, can be traced back to the ways we have chosen to respond to sorrow. Have we had healthy examples of those who have gone before us who know what to do in those painful moments?

Week 3: Belonging

Where do I belong?

Belonging is another universal need. We were created to live in a safe community, in proper relationship with people around us, to grow together in an environment of grace, truth, and love. Yet far too many of us are isolated and lonely. Sadly, many modern expressions of church can sometimes be the loneliest places of all.

Week 4: Hope

How do I bring hope to our broken world?

If you’ve met us in the context of a missions conference, then you have a desire to play a role in what God is doing in the world today. What could that look like? It’s important that there is unity in the message and the messenger, a consistency that results in a seamless expression and overflow of God’s love to the contexts he calls us to minister in.

Sign up to join a virtual mentoring group today. We look forward to journeying with you!
